As excitement builds for Macon Blair’s reimagining of the Troma classic The Toxic Avenger this Labor Day weekend, Titan Books has announced two literary companions to accompany the film’s release.

Horror fans are making their calendars for Septermber 2nd when The Toxic Avenger – The Official Movie Novelization hits bookstores in the United States, with a UK release coming the next day. The novelization comes from the twisted mind of Adam Cesare, the Bram Stoker Award winning author behind Clown in a Cornfield (the film adaptation coming to Shudder on May 9th.) Cesare’s gift for blending horror with dark humor makes him the perfect choice to capture the camp and violence of Toxie.

Mutant mayhem is coming to this twisted corner of New Jersey!

When a struggling janitor is pushed into a vat of toxic waste, he is transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends, and his community from the forces of corruption and greed.

Experience this action-packed, irreverent, gory and outlandish saga of vengeance and twisted justice, adapted from the 2025 reboot of the classic cult comedy-horror extravaganza The Toxic Avenger.

For fans that want more of a deeper dive into production, Titan will also release the Dan Jolin penned The Toxic Avenger: The Art and Making the Movie on September 16th.

The original Toxic Avenger is still a Troma Classic, and has maintained a cult following forty-one years after its release, thanks to it’s blend of over-the-top-gore and dark comedy. Blair’s reboot promises to honor the spirit of the original movie, while bringing the children of Toxie’s biggest fans into the family.

Will this new adaption of Tromaville’s favorite superhero capture the original magic, or will we see something new this time around? Will you watch Blair’s version?
