The shriek of my phone breaks the tranquil peace that had me enraptured for hours. Just the thought of it ringing sends me into a terror completely unknown. No one knows who's on the other end of that line until it's too late. It could be my job, ready to suck the last vestiges of my soul, or the police with dreadful news. The second ring, and my heart is already plotting its escape out of my chest. The third, I look at my phone as I begin to dread answering it. It's just another scammer, ready to steal my entire identity, all thanks to the Amazon account that doesn't exist.
